Maria Peña joined Sheehy, Lovelace & Mayfield as an Associate Attorney in 2019 and became a Shareholder in 2024. She practices primarily in family law, guardianships, and child protective services litigation and appeals. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Peña has had diverse careers in higher education administration, public health, and non-profit management. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, a Masters of Public Administration from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, and a law degree from Baylor University. A member of the Texas Bar College since becoming licensed, Ms. Peña was born and raised in Waco and takes pride in serving her hometown community's legal needs. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking gourmet food, reading, and spending quality time with her family.
